SUMMARY:Take Tea and See...Victorian Fashions
DESCRIPTION:The Victorian Society at the Fullerton Arboretum is planning a not-to-be-missed event on June 5\, 2011\, at 2:00 PM. This group of merry (but decorous) ladies and gentlemen are the docents for the Heritage House\, located at the heart of the 26 acre Fullerton Arboretum. Their new event TAKE TEA AND SEE VICTORIAN FASHIONS will include tea and tasty tidbits served by docents attired in 19th century costume\, live models wearing Victorian fashions and other surprises. \n\n\n\nThe event will include a live modeling of a copy of the wedding dress worn in 1894 by Miss Edith Johnston of Norwalk\, the bride of Dr. George C. Clark. (Doctor Clark built the Heritage House for his bride and included his office in the same building.) The dress will be worn on this occasion with the original necklace used with the gown by Miss Johnston when she married Dr. Clark. The Clark family made a gift of the necklace to the Heritage House collection in 2010. \n\n \n\nTAKE TEA AND SEE will provide an opportunity to recognize Frida Fluck for her ongoing support of the local community. Frida and her late husband\, John have been long time supporters of the Fullerton Arboretum. We hope for a large group of tea drinkers to raise their cups in her honor.
