SUMMARY:California Freight Mobility Plan 2019
DESCRIPTION:The California Freight Mobility Plan 2019 is the first update to the original CFMP (2014)\, a statewide\, long-range plan for California's freight transportation system. The Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act) mandates the Plan must include 10 required elements that all State Freight Plans must address for each of the transportation modes.\n\nThe FAST Act also included a provision that requires each State that receives funding under the National Highway Freight Program to develop a State Freight Plan.\n\nCaltrans\, in collaboration with its partners\, public\, and freight stakeholders will develop the CFMP 2019 over the next year\, through to final delivery in December 2019.\n\nStarting in May 2018\, public CFMP Workshops will be held around the State to inform and receive input from stakeholders. More information on the workshops will be posted to the website and distributed to the email list as it is finalized.\n\nDevelopment of the CFMP 2019 will be guided by Federal and State policies\, Public and Stakeholder collaboration\, and other various Statewide Regional and Air Quality plans\, programs\, and policies.\n\nThe updated Plan will continue to:\n\n\n	serve as a foundation for ongoing work\;\n	enhance the efficiency and economic competitiveness of California's logistics system\;\n	expand system capacity and improve safety and mobility\;\n	take the next steps toward improving prioritized freight corridors\;\n	respond to emerging federal freight planning guidelines\, performance measures\, and network definitions in the latest federal transportation bill from the 114th Congress' House Resolution 22-299\, Chapter 702\, Section 70202 under State Freight Plans\, the FAST Act.
