Description
The Tudors did more than inspire a scandal-ridden TV show: during its 118-year reign, this British royal family sponsored some of the most beautiful music of the Renaissance. In a special Orange County appearance, Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble, directed by Cal State Fullerton’s Nicole Baker, will survey a cappella gems of this period by Sheppard, Fayrfax, Taverner, Tallis and Byrd. Jouyssance is one of Southern California’s oldest vocal ensembles presenting early music, specializing in unusual and engaging repertoire for all audiences from the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
