       The Orange County Substance Abuse Prevention Network (OCSAPN) proudly celebrates its 32nd Anniversary with the 2011 Showcase of Community Resources along with Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs & Violence Prevention and Intervention & Red Ribbon Week.

Our program features youth and adults involved in prevention as a catalyst for positive change.

Join us as we spotlight people and agencies making their communities healthier places for youth and families.

9:00 am— Exhibits Open

10:30 am— Keynote Begins

12:30 pm— Lunch is Served

The mission of the Orange County Substance Abuse Prevention Network (OCSAPN) is to promote and enhance the quality, quantity, and cooperation of positive youth development programs and prevention services in Orange County.

Since its founding in 1980, OCSAPN has sponsored and promoted many events including Red Ribbon Week, youth conferences, training events, and the annual Showcase of Community Resources.

Keynote: "Prevention: The Challenge"

Gene Bedley - National Educator of the Year Awardee and Chairman of ¯Rachel’s Challenge, which was established in memory of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine shooting on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion coupled with her six diaries have become the foundation for one of the most powerful life-changing programs in America.

Youth Presentation: "Sobriety...The Challenge"

A powerful original presentation featuring youth from Coastal Mountain Youth Academy

Who Should Attend: Teachers, Counselors, Mentors, Volunteers, Principals, School Nurses, Coaches, Parents, PTAs/PTOs, Peer Leaders/Students, Youth-Serving Organizations, Business Leaders,  Prevention Specialists, Law Enforcement, Community Organizations,  Faith Communities, Anyone who works with youth or wants to help make Orange County a better place to live.
